The ACM board comprises Akron natives, young professionals, and experts in essential areas of both non-profit and business operation. We share a common vision for our city's newest educational attraction and our goal is to develop an unforgettable place to learn and play close to home.

Betsy Hartschuh, Co-Founder, President

Betsy is an Associate with Witschey, Witschey, and Firestone, Co., LPA in Copley. She received her Bachelor in Arts from The College of Wooster, majoring in Political Science. Betsy earned her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 2004. Since earning her law degree, Betsy has been involved in several service and leadership oriented programs in Akron including Torchbearers, where she helped launch the service committee and developed the AkRUN and Crawl. Betsy was a member of Class 26 of Leadership Akron and served on the Leadership Akron Alumni Board. In the past few years, Betsy has been honored with the Akron Chamber of Commerce’s 30 for the Future Award and the ATHENA Young Professional Award.


Ryan Hartschuh, Co-Founder

Ryan is an Innovation Marketing Manager for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He received his Bachelors of Arts from The College of Wooster, majoring in physics and earning academic all-American honors playing football. After earning his Ph.D. in Polymer Science from the University of Akron, Ryan worked as an open innovation Program Manager for NineSigma, advising Global 500 clients in industries ranging from consumer packaged goods to oil & gas. Throughout his academic & professional career, Ryan has initiated and led science-based community outreach programs. Most recently, Ryan co-chaired Goodyear’s Engineering Career Day, which hosted over 450 students from over 80 schools.

Julie Hall

Julie is Director of Tax/Senior Manager at Apple Growth Partners, specializing in partnership taxation and the real estate industry. She attended Otterbein University and received her Master of Taxation from the University of Akron. Julie is the recipient of numerous awards including ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award, 30 for the Future Award, and several others. Her civic involvement is equally impressive as a volunteer for Akron Public Schools, Torchbearers, Summit County United Way Young Leaders, and she has served on the board of Akron Battered Women's Shelter, Torchbearers, and now Akron Children's Museum.

Leslie King

Leslie Graduated from University of Toledo with a degree in elementary education. She spent 10 years teaching for Wadsworth City Schools before resigning to stay home with her 3 daughters Sydney, Olivia, and Victoria. Leslie has a residential real estate license and is a licensed agent with Howard Hanna. She is a passionate community philanthropist and child advocate. Together with her husband, Leslie has organized a community coat drive for the past 5 years distributing thousands of coats for local families in need. In 2010, Leslie also founded the Wadsworth Bunny Brigade- a group of women that assembles hundreds of Easter baskets with donated items for less fortunate children in the area.

Amanda Leffler

Amanda is a partner at Brouse McDowell, and co-chair of the firm’s Insurance Recovery Practice Group. Amanda is certified as a Specialist in Insurance Coverage Law by the Ohio State Bar Association and is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated through Martindale-Hubbell. She serves on the Board of Governors for the Ohio State Bar Association, as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for United Disability Services, and on the Board of Directors for Leadership Akron and the Akron Children’s Museum. Amanda serves on the Distribution Committee for the Sisler McFawn Foundation and is a Fellow of the Akron Bar Foundation. She is also a member of the Akron, Federal and American Bar Associations including numerous committee and section chair positions. Amanda is a graduate of The University of Akron School of Law, JD, 2002, summa cum laude and The University of Toledo, BA, 1999. Amanda and her husband Dan live in West Akron with two daughters ages 6 and 4.

Jonathan Morschl

Jon has been a designer with Four Points Architectural for over eight years. Jon has been involved with a wide range of project types and project responsibilities while with Four Points. Jon holds a Bachelors of Science in Architecture from Kent State University. He is an active member of Torchbearers, of which he served four years on the Board of Directors. He is currently involved with the Highland Square Neighborhood Association and the Porch Rokr festival as well as other activities in the area. He has been involved with other local organizations including Downtown Akron Partnership, United Way Young Leaders Society, The Akron Zoo, Child Guidance & Family Solutions and Habitat for Humanity of Summit County. In 2012 Jon was recognized by the Greater Akron Chamber with the 30 for the Future Award.

Melissa Fashinpaur

Melissa received a Bachelors of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and Finance from Miami University of Ohio.  She has been with EY for over 14 years serving in both the Chicago and Northeast Ohio markets.  Currently she is a Senior Manager within the Advisory Services practice of EY, providing information technology audit and advisory services to various global organizations. Melissa is very passionate about her career and the development of Northeast Ohio.  This passion is displayed through her involvement in many internal initiatives at EY including facilitation of a Chief Information Officer (CIO) Roundtable in Northeast Ohio, co-running the Today’s Family Diversity & Inclusiveness Network and playing an important role in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year program.  Her dedication to career, leadership and the community was recognized as she recently was awarded a 2014 YWCA Women of Excellence award.   She dedicates her spare time to her husband (Chris) and two boys (Colin and Keaton).

Katie Smith

Katie has nearly 15 years of experience in marketing, advertising, and sales for multinational corporations and non-profit organizations. She currently works part-time in marketing in the education sector and teaches business and social media marketing classes. Katie earned her degree in Marketing and International Business from Kent State University where she studied in Geneva, Switzerland and worked at the United Nations International Trade Center. Outside of her career, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and competing in triathlons and marathons.



Ebony Yeboah

Ebony L. Yeboah is executive director, State and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Legal Affairs, for FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. Ebony joined the company in 2005 as an attorney supporting the company’s Treasury Department. She was promoted several times in the Legal Department, developing expertise in the area of state regulatory affairs. She then joined the Governmental Affairs department as executive director of State Affairs. Ebony was named to her current position in December 2012. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and philosophy from Washington & Jefferson College. In addition, she received a law degree from Washington and Lee University.

Joe Mazur

ACM welcomed Joe Mazur to the board of directors in June of 2016. Joe earned a bachelor’s degree at Kent State University in 1988, then spent a significant portion of his career in the entertainment industry initially with Thistledown Racetrack, then joining on with SMG, the largest private facility management company in the world. He facilitated the turnaround of multiple entertainment venues throughout the Midwest region as Regional Vice President at SMG. As President and CEO of the International Soap Box Derby, Joe was instrumental in providing the long term marketing strategies as well as operational action plans that support a complete revitalization of the youth-centric organization.  Joe is currently President & CEO of Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

Alexis Rizopulos

Alexis Rizopulos works as a Change Manager at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and has over 20 years of experience in marketing, communications and PR. Alexis is a certified PMP, a Case Western Reserve Leadership Deep Dive Program graduate and has a BS in Communications from Emerson College. She was a 30 For the Future recipient in 2010 and has served on various Akron YP boards such as Goodyear’s NextGen Leaders, Akron Children’s Hospital’s Emerging Leaders and the Young Professional Network (YPN). After moving to West Akron ten years ago from Los Angeles with her husband and two children, she is thankful for the great family activities Akron has to offer but disappointed that few were enjoyable all year round- which is why she was passionate about being part of the Akron Children’s Museum.

Chris Griffith

Chris received a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. He has worked in local government for 12 years and is currently Recreation Coordinator for the City of Akron at Lock 3 Park. Chris has volunteered for The First Tee of Akron serving on there Junior Board and serving his Twinsburg community on Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. Chris lives in Twinsburg with his wife Colleen and their two children Chase and Chloe.

Maria Nagel

Maria is the President of Nagel Advertising Inc. and brings a robust background in concert and event promotion with over 20 years of experience in marketing, sponsorship sales, and event development. She currently represents the City of Akron in marketing efforts for special events including Lock 3 Amphitheater, The Heinz Poll Dance Festival and The Akron Arts Expo by developing full media, creative and promotional campaigns. Maria also represents the marketing arm of various concert venues, theatres and independent concert promoters across the U.S. allowing her to build brands, create efficient and effective marketing strategies and place media across the USA and Canada on a daily basis. She is also skilled in creating and evaluating non-traditional revenue streams for a variety of organizations from local government to charities to rock concerts. Maria and her husband, Paul, enjoy watching their two sons play football, basketball, and baseball.

Chris is a Vice President at Sequoia Financial Group in Fairlawn, OH. Outside of work, Chris is most interested in spending time with his wife, Erin, and their three children. He attended Allegheny College and received an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.



Michael Livesay

In his role as Tax Partner at the CPA firm Weidrick Livesay & Company, he brings over twenty-five years of tax and business accounting experience. He is responsible for all phases of client service and consulting in tax compliance for both individuals and businesses. His consulting experience includes tax research and planning for all manners of complex transactions including estate and business succession planning. He is a University of Akron graduate and also holds the AICPA's Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) Credential. Before he co-founded his CPA firm in 1997, Mike worked for six years for two large CPA firms and also served for ten years in the Ohio Army National Guard in a variety of roles including armored crewman, tank commander, armor officer and executive officer. He lives in Bath with his wife Kelly and their two daughters.
